As mummies, we show our families how much we love them every single day. So how can we make Valentine’s Day that little bit special? Here are some fun ideas to celebrate with your children this year.
On post it sized pieces of paper, write down seven (or however many you’d like) things you love about your child/children, fold them up and place them in a jar. They can choose one to read every day of Valentine’s week.
If you’re feeling creative, get the paints out and create your own masterpieces. Sit opposite each other at the table and use the paints to create portraits of each other. Once they’re dry, write what you love most about who you have drawn. This makes a unique keepsake for years to come!
If you’re visiting the garden centre soon, pick up a small plain terracotta flower pot. Paint it with hearts, rainbows, or anything that takes your fancy. Plant a colourful winter flower inside and display it in your child’s room.
Have a family Valentine’s movie night. Let your child pick their favourite film or show and snuggle up together for some cosy family time. Nothing says ‘I love you’ more than a cuddle!
