Gross Nature at Pensthorpe Natural Park Pensthorpe, Fakenham

Calling all brave souls! Are you curious about the gross things in nature? Do you want to learn more about slime molds, spiders, and other creepy crawlies? If so, then you won’t want to miss the upcoming event, “Gross Nature!” From brainless blobs to Salticidae can you create your own mysterious monster?
From alien invaders, body snatchers, micro monsters, vampire plants, brainless blobs, the human dinner table, pond monsters and poo eaters. Learning all about the weird and wonderful ways nature can be gross and all the weird & wonderful creatures that call our natural world home.

Summer of Play at Blickling Estate
22nd July to 5th September
Get ready for a Summer of Play at National Trust Blickling Estate! Create, explore, move, wonder, make-believe – try building dens and giant nests as you discover five play stations in the woodland and parkland. Head into the garden to discover stacks of possibilities to play all day – who can’t resist digging in the Walled Garden play patch? Join a game of cricket on Wednesday 2 August when Norfolk Cricket will be on hand share tips and tricks. Ever dreamed of being on stage? Now’s your chance to get dressed up to perform in the mini theatre! After oodles of fun, listen to a storyteller tell a tale or head to cafés for ice-creams, refreshing drinks and light meals – with colouring sheets while you wait.
Sensational portraits at Blickling Hall
22 July – 3 September, 11am – 4pm
Use your senses of touch, smell and hearing to learn about five of the portraits on display in the House and the lives these characters led here at Blickling. Discover what the silk and lace from Lady Constance’s dress feels like to touch. Smell the scent boxes to learn who enjoyed eating chocolate, marzipan and spiced wine. Listen to the sound of rapiers clashing and find out who died in a duel on Cawston Heath!
BugzUk Lenwade
Throughout the Summer
BugzUK is a unique attraction in Norfolk, being the largest all invertebrate zoo in the UK. See over two hundred incredible tropical insects from all over the world including millipedes, stick insects, scorpions, crabs, spiders and tarantulas and so many more. You can even book an hourly handling session where you will handle several large insects and other invertebrates which all the kids and adults always enjoy.
Dinos in the Dark at Roarr Dinosaur Adventure
Saturday 6th August 2022 from 6pm to 10pm
Visit for a magical midsummer’s evening of fun-filled activities, educational stalls, live music, and inspiring talks about conservation and wildlife.
From 6pm – 10pm, discover and engage with a variety of interactive workshops run by local organisations including Norfolk and Norwich Science Association, Norwich Astronomical Club, Norfolk and Norwich Bat Group and many more! From learning about light and stars, to getting crafty with collages, puzzles and colouring, there is something on offer for everyone!
